Netzer encoders are available as standard “off-the-shelf” models or fully customised solutions to meet specific customer requirements. The Electric Encoder™ technology offers a unique contactless, hollow-shaft design, delivering unmatched precision, reliability, and compactness. This configuration ensures minimal axial space, low inertia, and lightweight construction, making it ideal for motion control systems where size and weight are critical.

Unlike traditional rotary encoders, Netzer’s solution utilises dynamic capacitance variations between two PCB plates – a passive rotor and a transceiver stator – for position detection. The system continuously scans the full 360° of the rotor’s circumference, generating a precise analogue output based on the sine and cosine components of its angular position. This innovative method ensures exceptional accuracy, robustness, and noise immunity.

The Netzer VLP series absolute rotary encoders are engineered for high performance position sensing in demanding and harsh environments, making them ideal for aerospace, defence, robotics and advanced automation applications.

Featuring an ultra thin, lightweight hollow shaft design with low inertia, they deliver high resolution, wear free precision using contactless capacitive technology. 

Tested to MIL STD 810 standards and fully immune to magnetic fields, the VLP encoders combine excellent accuracy to size performance with long term reliability. A range of models and custom options including coatings, connectors and cabling ensure seamless integration and application specific optimisation.
